PlastiComp, Inc., a leading technology company in the field of reinforced polymer composites, today announced that it has hired Zhehui Liu as Development Scientist. Liu will help PlastiComp further advance its Pushtrusion® Direct Long Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (D-LFRT) technology and Complet®, Long-Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (LFRT) pellet technology.
With over twelve years experience in polymer chemistry, Liu has developed materials and processes for many industry leaders, including: Boeing Company, Nova Chemicals, Chinese Petrochemical, and Solvay. With his vast experience, Liu has become a research and development expert of polymer blends, composites and nanocomposites, formulation, compounding, extrusion and processing.
“The innovation and experience that Zhehui Liu brings to PlastiComp will be an invaluable asset to our development team as we accelerate our efforts to grow our DLFRT and LFRT business worldwide,” said Steve Bowen, PlastiComp, Inc. President and CEO. “We are excited to welcome Zhehui to PlastiComp and look forward to working with him as we enter our next phase of expansion.”
“PlastiComp’s creativity and rapid growth greatly impressed me,” said Liu. “Although PlastiComp is small compared to some corporations in the plastic industry, they continue to develop world-class innovation in plastic processing technology.”
Liu received his Bachelor, Master, and PhD degrees in polymer science and engineering and completed his postdoctoral researches on polymer blends and composites in Belgium, Hong Kong, and the United States. Liu also received a Chinese Chemical Society Award for Creative Journal Papers on Polymer Physics.
