H. Johnson has joined PlastiComp™, Inc. as Sales Representative
in the southeastern United States, company President Steve
Bowen announced today.
A veteran of the Long Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics (D-LFT)
industry, Johnson worked previously with Bowen as Vice President
of Sales and Marketing for the Celstran long fiber business
of Hoechst. Most recently, Johnson was President of Applied
Fiber Systems, Ltd, a market leading continuous fiber reinforced
thermoplastics manufacturer located in Clearwater, Florida.
Applied Fiber Systems was recently acquired by Hexcel Corporation.
“Pat brings a great deal of experience with thermoplastic
materials. His reputation in the marketplace for integrity

understand their needs to develop solutions that improve their
businesses,” said Bowen.
“Pat’s joining with us is a good indication to
our past and future customers that PlastiComp™, Inc.
is preparing for an opportunity to work with them with new
composites innovations and reinforced thermoplastic technology.
Pat and I are excited about the opportunity to work together
again in this exciting growth market,” Bowen concluded.
PlastiComp™, Inc. provides technology and products focused
on the long fiber reinforced thermoplastics market, including
long fiber pellet production, equipment and Pushtrusion®
technology for direct in-line compounding. With Pushtrusion®
technology continuous reinforcing fibers and molten polymers
are combined during the parts-forming process, eliminating
the need for pre-compounded pellets. Parts performance is
usually improved, while raw materials costs are dramatically
lowered. Pushtrusion® technology is compact and can be
retrofit to existing injection molding machinery.
About PlastiComp
PlastiComp, Inc. is unique in providing both long fiber reinforced
thermoplastic (LFT) technology and direct long fiber reinforced
thermoplastic (D-LFT) technology to global customers. Complet®
composite pellets provide a single pellet solution for customers
with stringent requirements and rapid speed to market demands.
In contrast, Pushtrusion® direct in-line compounding offers
a complementary approach by providing substantial savings
compared to precompounded thermoplastic composite pellets.
PlastiComp also offers advanced contract molding along with
research and development including formula development, material
and part testing, and evaluation.
Complet® and Pushtrusion are registered trademarks
